All Over My Life

Psalm 34:10 “The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”

As I headed home after a week of meetings to prepare for the smiling faces I will see online Tuesday as our district heads back to school, the song that was playing blessed my soul differently than it ever has. As I listened, God reminded me of the message that has been ringing in my heart since this week’s bible study and it was as if He was using the lyrics of this song to say “in other words…”. I immediately felt the urge to pull up to this computer and use those lyrics to leave this record of encouragement for anyone that would receive it. The writer brilliantly penned:

“All throughout my history, Your faithfulness has walked beside me. The Winter storms made way for Spring, in every season from where I'm standing. I see the evidence of Your goodness, all over my life, all over my life. I see Your promises in fulfillment, all over my life, all over my life.”

I could barely hold back the tears then and I am fighting them back right now! Life has a way using all that God allows that may not be so pleasant at the time to distract us from knowing and believing that He is in control. I want to be a witness for our focus verse that profoundly announces a promise that we should all find refuge and blessed-assurance when the enemy misrepresents the details of our lives. David declares such truth when he highlights the benefit of those who seek the Lord. Before getting to that truth, he makes mention of the fact that young lions have wants that sometimes aren’t fulfilled, as ferocious as they may be (they should never get hungry, right). However, young lions do suffer lack, times when food is scarce or escape their hunt BUT those that seek the Lord will lack no good thing. Holler at your girl if that hit you in the right spot!!!

So when I heard this song today, I heard it in a deeper place in my spirit! God made it clear, as He has been for some time now, that diligently seeking Him in every area of my life means I will see Him in every area of my life because those who seek shall find. And if I seek him in every area of my life, just like the songwriter sings I will see His goodness ALL OVER MY LIFE!!! No matter what season life is in, I will experience NO LACK!! Pandemic… no lack!! Loss of a job….no lack!!! Health wise…no lack!! Peace of mind…. No lack!!!

Cultivating a heart that seeks the Lord like this takes intentional dedication and focus. It requires an understanding that the life He came to give is more abundant than what we get when we fail to seek Him with our whole heart. I can assure you that you won’t go without any good thing when you do.

Let’s Pray

Father, I know how easy it is to allow life to dictate the time I devote to seeking you. I pray now that you will hear my cry for help that I develop a heart that has to have you more than anything that presents itself to me. You are abounding in goodness and I thank you for desiring that I experience your goodness all over my life!!
