Sound the Alarm

Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked (Psalms 97:10).

Hate is defined as extreme dislike or intense hostility. It is one of those words that when I hear others use it, I generally cringe. I don't know why... maybe because it has such STRONG implications. Yet, it is a word that the Bible uses to describe the believer's position when it comes to EVIL.

God says HATE EVIL, but what am I to do with this HATE? What action should I associate with spiritual HATE? Over the next 3 devotions we will take a closer look.

Life Application: "Sound the ALARM"

When EVIL is identified, we are to use it as an indicator of DANGER for our own lives. Whenever we can plainly see that a person, place or thing is EVIL, warning horns should go off within us immediately. Warnings, not to associate, not to become comfortable, and not to enter into agreement with it! Lets support this statement with another scripture:

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me (Psalms 101:3)

Here's a TRUTH you should never forget; EVIL seeks to cleave to you! Its presence in your life is not innocent nor is it harmless! The more you fellowship with EVIL, the more it effects who you are and who you are becoming. Again, I want to call your attention to the word of God

Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character.

(1 Corinthians 15:33 Amplified Bible)

I want to challenge you today... be on the look-out for EVIL! Ask yourself; Who's in my company? Do my friends often use foul language to communicate with me and each other (bad language indicates what's in the heart)? Do my associates listen to and encourage me to listen to music that encourages violence, sex, vanity, and idleness (ALL of which have EVIL roots)? What's the vibe where you hang out.... is God allowed there, and if He was allowed, would He want to come (If God is not there, I guarantee EVIL is)? What are you pasting to your spirit-man via your eyes (the eye is a gateway into the spirit)?

I look forward to sharing more on Thursday! Until then, seek God... and SOUND THE ALARM at the sight of EVIL!

Blessings to you,

Pastor Lacie
