DRY PLACES

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. 2 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw not high hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. (Exodus 3:1-5)

THE SITUATION:

We are in the middle of a bitter war! Our backs are against the wall, and we have taken a brutal beating at the hands of our enemy. Satan's army is larger than ever and its growing bolder and bolder everyday! To add injury to insult... we are trying to engage him in conditions he thrives in.....DRY PLACES.

LIFE APPLICATION:

Like Moses God is calling us by name from the ground of the Horeb (DRY PLACE), unto HOLY GROUND!

A DRY PLACE is the place of spiritual stagnation! A place where spiritual growth does not or struggles greatly to exist. DRY PLACES; (1) hinder our ability to let go of old sinful habits, (2) make us powerless by perverting the gifts given to us by God, (3) produce in us a mind that has little faith when facing difficulties. DRY PLACES ultimately render us fruitless and barren as it relates to the things of God. A DRY PLACE is any place void of the HOLY SPIRIT!

HOLY GROUND is the place where the Holy Spirit has our undivided attention and has complete control of our thoughts and actions. It is the place where the Spirit of God overshadows our WILL and infuses us with His WILL! On Holy Ground we grow because of the influence of His Spirit in our lives. Without the continual, consistent influence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, spiritual stagnation becomes inevitable! And that my friends, is the advantage of our enemy over the believer. Satan wants to wage war at the point of spiritual immaturity. He salivates at the thought of bullying babies in Christ! This war is not safe for babies.... only the spiritually mature will survive!

Today I challenge you to hear the voice of God calling you from your DRY PLACE, unto Holy Ground! I challenge you to hear and then respond.
