The Lion and the Bear

But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” (1 Samuel 17:34-37)

Thought for today: Your NOW faith, will elevate you towards tomorrow's destiny.

David, who had already been anointed by God (1 Samuel 16:13), finds himself still home with daddy tending to sheep. A position, I might add, that's not highly celebrated or greatly sought after by anyone. Still, in the midst of menial circumstances, David uses his faith to propel him towards his destiny.

Many of us are believing God for our next level of existence. Deep down inside we are being spiritually drawn towards the calling of God for our lives (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Micheal Eaton say's "We all have a deep and abiding awareness of something outside the boundaries of our senses." That something is called destiny.... that thing God himself has ordained... anointed us to do.

I have a question for you.... While you are waiting to live out your destiny, what are you doing in your NOW? David wasn't waiting on BIGGER and BETTER, instead he worked his faith where he was, and it accelerated his destiny! The more you trust God in your NOW by faith, the more God will show you glimpses of who you are in Him. When David used his faith to kill the lion and the bear at his father's house, it elevated his faith to believe he could conquer Goliath.

Is God waiting to see your faith NOW before He elevates you to the next level? Look around you... there are opportunities to pour out your faith everywhere! The more you use your faith to slay the lion and the bear, the more God can trust you to slay Goliath.
